We offer consultative services for Vermont Primary Care Providers with questions about diagnosis and treatment planning for children and adolescents ages 21 and under.
We are available to provide some FREE live virtual trainings to primary care practices on a variety of mental health related topics.
We are available to answer calls between 9:00am - 3:00pm daily for registered practices.
Children and youth in Vermont are in the midst of a mental health crisis, and, too often, they face barriers to access high quality treatment. This dynamic creates costly inefficiencies, worsens patient symptoms, and contributes to provider burnout.
The Vermont Child Psychiatry Access Program (VTCPAP) provides a novel and innovative way to approach mental health. Our team of licensed clinical social workers and board certified child and adolescent psychiatrists provide
FREE, immediate support and psychiatric consultation to primary care providers (PCPs) who, in turn, provide care to their pediatric patients in need of mental health treatment.
VTCPAP is the Vermont Chapter of the National Network of Child Psychiatry Access Programs (NNCPAP)
I am so grateful to have been able to participate in this training. It is without question the most effective CME I've done to date. Thank you so much for making this resource available - I am implementing more routine pediatric mental health screeners and scales as we speak.

This is incredible, thank you so much - I feel so much better having something to go back to the mom with!
Kristin Bird, NP
You and this service are so helpful, as always - thank you so much!

The VTCPAP program has helped me to do a much better job taking care of my patients with complex mental health needs. I always come away with some new ideas or strategies to try. They listen carefully, they ask great questions...
They have helped me use questionnaires more effectively to monitor patients... I always get a call back the same day, at a time when I can spare the time to talk.
